Reviews about The Shortlands Dental Practice
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪This dental practice has given me a fear of dentists when I actually quite enjoyed going. The dentist is extremely rude. I had a number of appointments where she humiliated and belittled me and bare faced lied to me. When I tried to explain this to her she threatened to kick me out and stop my treatment. As a result I have a gum shield that I do not need and that doesn't fit, 3 horrific fillings that have stopped me eating or closing my mouth properly and with even more damaged gums as she told me to but interdental brushes that I again, didn't need and that didn't fit. She also told me all my teeth were going to fall out in a few months because I had the list severe case of gum disease. Turns out this was another lie and it's bear enough sorted now thanks to a better toothbrush. She refused to tell me what was going on at any point and even stopped me from looking at my own x rays to check if the damage was really that bad (it wasn't). I also has to teach her how to spell fluoride. I'm absolutely terrified to go back and find another dentist in case this happens again. Thanks a lot. One pro I will give is one of the nurses there is absolutely lovely. AVOID.by Fried FairyOctober 20, 2017
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Disappointed in all around service. My new patient appt was canceled the morning it had been scheduled (I was notified about 5 hrs before). Worth noting their staff multitask - receptionist is also a dental assistant and there's only 1 dentist who also does hygienist appts. Although this fact wouldn't bother me when searching for a dental office I rate this practice low as I felt the service provided wasn't adequate or thorough. Although I was being seen initially under the NHS I would have thought any dentist would recommend a hygienist appt regardless of the condition of your teeth - well I was told to come back in a yr to do the standard dental check as my teeth were fine. So I opted to go private and pay for a hygienist appt out of pocket (I do believe in twice yearly hygienist appts). However the treatment was the worst I've had (note I do love seeing a dentist and do not fear these appts) - rinsed with ice cold water (I don't have sensitivity to hot/cold but it was very uncomfortable); no flossing involved at all and generally teeth didn't feel as clean as they normally do after these appts.by Sylvia RamosFebruary 04, 2017
